Hello from the Spatial Media LBSzone...
Loads of great updates for you today if I say so myself! To start, a cool tip on an interesting new service from SpinVox. These guys have some new functionality that enables users to take advantage of their speech to text recognition technology to update social bookmarks. Imagine, call a number and easily update your blog, twitter site, facebook status or ?? with a text version of your voice message along with a link to an audio clip! this is huge and the possibilities for this WOW technology are endless... makes you go hmmmmmm. On to "bizness" news, Samsung is the latest device maker to toss in their support for the NAVTEQ LBS Challenge in the form of sponsorship and an offering of tools to developers... nice stuff! Speaking of the Challenge, my friends at NAVTEQ NN4D have reminded me that the deadline for the EMEA LBS Challenge is rapidly approaching - mark Oct. 24 on your calendar as the day that submissions are due.
In our growing category devoted to LBS related video clips we have a number of new additions including:
A Detailed Look at the G1 from Mobile Industry Review Show,
Google Search on Android Mobile Devices,
Google Maps Street View on your Mobile Device,
and a look at Nokia S60 Touch UI Express Music 5800 at Remix Event, London.
Finally, I've offered up another tip this week with a quick look at the fine offerings from Traffic.com with their location-aware traffic reports, email updates, and other information... any commuter can definitely use this resource! In a heads-up feature today I have a first look at the Vodafone Blackberry Storm (touch), an amazing device that's already getting thumbs up!
Oh, and in closing, just today we've turned on our NEW LBSzone Career Board... use this resource to place your FREE job opportunities for LBS developers, programmers, or other mobile technology professionals or consultants. Check it out here
