Hello from the Spatial Media LBSzone...
Welcome once again to our weekly update on location-based services. You'll notice in our spotlight features
listed below that we have updates from both Google and Mapquest who have news for developers. Mapquest
has shared details of the free Edition of their developer APIs with us and Google has announced what they are
billing the I/O event, slated for May 28th, and Thursday, May 29th, 2008 in San Fran. Google I/O(tm), a
two-day, in- depth gathering for developers to share knowledge about Google's own developer products and
web application development in general. Speaking of events, we'd like to remind those of you planning on
attending CTIA Wireless in April to consider an excellent, pre-conference, co-located event - The SmartPhone Summit. Jam
packed with quality speakers, this event is sure to please, and educate you on the latest in mobile application
development and trends. Plan on getting to Vegas one day early as the Summit is scheduled for March 31 in
the Las Vegas Convention Center (Room N115). Finally, while at CTIA Wireless, no doubt you'll be taking in
the Navteq LBS Challenge awards ceremony (Wed @ 3PM). Kudos to uLocate Communications who have
announced just today that 10 of 15 Semi-finalists in the 2008 NAVTEQ Global LBS Challenge - Americas Are
Built on the WHERE Platform... awesome! Have a great week, and remember, without the L it's just BS!
