Hello from the Spatial Media LBSzone...
A reminder to you from our friends at Forum Nokia... Mobile Rules! Create A Unique Technology Innovation And Win
a Contract - a super opportunity for some fantastic recognition than money simply can't buy. Hurry as the deadline is
rapidly approaching (Jan 25) ... see more here.
Moving forward, many of you may have colleagues in Vegas this week at the annual consumer electronics love-fest
aka. CES. Judging by the news that's been rolling in this week and the updates we've seen on the evening news,
location technologies are everywhere at CES - no big surprise! Some of the LBS newsmakers at CES this week
include Networks in Motion (NIM) who announced a navigation tool for AAA; Garmin is there naturally, and rolled out
9 New Vehicle Navigation Solutions and is also touting Google local search integration; Dash Navigation is also there
promoting Dash Express, the device that many are waiting anxiously for to connect to their vehicle; and not to be
forgotten, Yahoo! who've used CES to springboard word of their open mobile development platform and Yahoo!
Mobile Widgets - the pitch from Yahoo!... making it easier for Internet content and services to "go mobile." No doubt
location is everywhere in Vegas this week, so much so that I've already penciled in CES 09 as a must attend (I'll see
you there!) Read on for all the latest LBS news updates from around the Globe. Finally... we'd like to formally
welcome the Nokia N95 8GB NAM (North
American edition) to the N.A market! A tip, see also this N95
blog that we maintain.
