Perhaps you've started some tax planning, or perhaps you've implemented some new practices and procedures for this year - the start of a fresh year is always a great time for change - perhaps some new equipment and technology are in your plans for this week - there's still some great New Year deals out there! Whatever it is please do enjoy yourself, stay safe, and be sure to look ahead and don't look back - Cheers! A little tip for you to start the year... are you interested in creating a cool social media profile for yourself? These things are fun and could be handy for sharing with your network - personal and business. Vizify (vizify.com) is a great tool that lets you build a nice profile and they also have a fun video creation tool for the New Year that allows you to build a cool "Best of" moments video from your 2013 Twitter activity - It really is cool! I've actually been blogging my own GeoTech opinions regularly since about 1998 and I'm still at it! Popular from 2013 - USGS Want You to Help Update and Crowd Source the National Map - The agency is looking for crowd participants to help enhance the National Map and currently has some 18 States open for data editing, updates, and new features. Using an OSM style effort, volunteers will update the maps, add features and even adopt a quad of their own! Register for a free account and watch for more functionality and fun features to come. The Federal government has continued to open up and also take advantage of the crowd and crowd-sourcing - well done!
