Hello from the Spatial Media LBSzone...
Let's jump right into things this week with details of some of the latest LBS
market research to be released. In a report from ABI research there's no surprise that User-Generated Content Will Be a Key Component
of Maps, Navigation, and Location-Based Services... keep this in mind when developing your apps! Also for developers, Google has once again
announced another Summer of code. Recall, summer of code is a pioneering program that funds college students to write open source
software during their summer vacations. The goal is to increase the world's supply of open source software while providing young
programmers inspiring, meaningful summer jobs. In the UK Vodafone UK has extended its successful Vodafone Sat Nav service to mass
market consumer mobile devices. Sat Nav for consumers, powered by Telmap, is the first operator-branded mobile navigation service aimed at
consumers in the UK.
