Glenn Hello from the Spatial Media LBSzone... This week we are pleased to deliver to your email box a number of news updates from MBC09 in Barcelona. Check out our news archive where we are featuring all the LBS related announcements coming out of the GSMA Mobile World congress this week in Barcelona, Spain. Some items getting our immediate attention include details of a couple of new devices from Nokia - the Nokia E55 and E75 - 2 enterprise work horses in the E series portfolio, heavy on functionality, usability, and best of all, priced very well! Indeed, much of the hoopla from Nokia at WMC surrounds their news about the Ovi Application Store - many news outlets are reporting this as new but many of us know that Ovi has indeed been around for a long time already and we've been using it regularly. Nokia is just now officially rolling it out and boasting some very cool, new functionality. Ovi store will not simply be about applications, rather, the store will be intelligent, making suggestions to users based on their preferences, habits, and perhaps most important, base on their location - think social location! Ovi store will alter inventory presented to users based on thee user's current location when accessing the store. Ovi store will support S40 and S60 devices and is promised to be just one click away. the first official device to ship with Ovi Store will be the much anticipated Nokia N97 smartphone, expected to roll out this May. Think of Ovi store as bringing together Nokia Mosh, Ovi, and widgets in one place! Developers, take note that you can secure a 70% revenue share from applications distributed via Ovi! Finally, we're pleased to share with you details of Economic Stimulus Project areas that may create GIS/Geo Tech Opportunities. The following were some of the spending items of interest that may indeed have a direct or indirect effect on GIS and geospatial technologies. Spending has been organized in 10 main categories with much of what could be perceived as likely spending to affect GIS/Geo tech found in the Science & Tech and Transportation and Infrastructure categories. Have a great week all and remember, you can follow us on Twitter via @lbszone
