Speaking of new devices, Garmin and ASUS have announced the Garmin-Asus Line of Co-branded LBS-centric Mobile Phones. The new Garmin-Asus nvifone model will be announced at the Mobile World Congress trade show in Barcelona, Spain and visitors to the Garmin stand will get a first look. Speaking of Barcelona, our friends at NAVTEQ have informed us that the LBS Challenge EMEA Awards Ceremony Will Be Broadcast Live from Barcelona next week. During the event, NAVTEQ will announce one Grand Prize Winner and three Runners-up from a field of thirteen semifinalists See more). A reminder to developers, you have until SiRF and CSR have announced the two companies plan to merge Creating A Global Leader In Connectivity And Location Platforms. The Boards of Directors of both companies have unanimously approved the transaction, which is expected to close in the second quarter of 2009. and... one last tidbit.. could it be that Nokia and facebook are much friendlier than we ever thought?
