Hello from the Spatial Media LBSzone...
Welcome again, albeit a day later than usual, today we're pleased to share info that we plan on beefing up the iPhone related content, news, tips, etc... this thanks to hopefully getting an iPhone 3G S in our possession (on back-order from AT&T). the first move is to add an iPhone section to our sister publication over at GISuser.com. Check out our Dedicated iPhone Section for iPhone related news and updates of interest to mobile mapping application developers, social location, iPhone GIS apps, and location-aware (LBS) apps - iPhone developers and solution providers, please be sure to provide us with tips and news about your plans for developing cool location-aware apps to run on the iPhone platform.
Today we're pleased to share news from Nokia about the very cool Nokia N900 device - Running on the new Maemo 5 software, the Nokia N900 empowers users to have dozens of application windows open and running simultaneously while taking full advantage of the cellular features, touch screen and QWERTY keyboard. Much of the mobile World is buzzing lately with speculation that maemo could be positioned well as THE OS of choice for Nokia devices down the road with Symbian OS perhaps taking a backseat... we'll have to wait and see! A reminder from our friends at O'reilly Media this week as plans for Where2.0 2010 are rolling out. Mark your calendar, Where 2.0 is happening March 30-April 1, 2010 at the San Jose Marriott in San Jose, CA. Where 2.0 the premier conference in the location industry, is now accepting speaking proposals (Proposals are due by October 13, 2009). Recall this year the NAVTEQ LBS Challenge Awards will take place at WHERE2.0!
Finally, over on the AnyGeo blog we have some interesting updates to share, most noteworthy, check out this very cool iPhone application to track the Metro Paris Subway via iPhone and iPod Touch App - demo video is provided. Also on the blog, we have some mobile tips that could be useful in getting Michael Vick to the football stadium on time!
