Hello from the Spatial Media LBSzone...
Welcome once again to our latest update on the world of mobile, location-aware solutions and services. Today we're offering up a reminder that our recently launched collection of videos showcasing location-aware solutions is now online and growing. Most recently added videos include a sneak peek at the Nokia N96 (expected to be announced next week), my unwrapping of the Samsung-SGHi560 GPS-enabled smartphone, and a look at ArcPad 7.2 - your suggestions and contributions to this section are welcomed! What better way to show off your LBS application than by sharing a video demonstration? In the news this week, a reminder about the Fourth European Navigation Event, scheduled to take place on 7/8 October. Speaking of events, I'm slowly making plans to attend a special Nokia sponsored annual workshop hosted by WomWorld - September between the 11th and 14th, in Helsinki. More details will come in the future but chances are I may also be helping out with a session on mobile geotagging so if you have tips or input you'd like to share with me on that topic please feel free to ping me (info at lbszone.com). In other news, an item that I found very interesting was the Garmin and uLocate partnership. This deal will see friend-finding capabilities from Buddy Beacon via WHERE to select current and future Garmin GPS devices, an interesting deal! Finally, another partnership in the LBS space
sees Autodesk and NAVTEQ in a deal providing Autodesk's geospatial customers with online access to NAVTEQ's map data via a special website. I could go on and on but then there wouldn't be a reason for you to jump to LBSzone.com for all the great material! Oh, and before I forget, details and the date have been set for next year's Where2.0 event in San Jose, CA...
