INRIX Hires Don Butler as Senior Vice President of Global Marketing and Product Planning

Former OnStar Vice President Brings 20 Years of Automotive Industry
Experience to Growing Traffic and Navigation Services Company
KIRKLAND, Wash., Jan. 25 -- INRIXr, a leading provider of traffic and navigation services announced the hiring of former GM OnStar Executive Don Butler (46) as the company's Senior Vice President of Global Marketing and Product Planning. He will lead the company's global marketing, brand management and planning efforts. Don will also take a significant role in the company's marketing and business development efforts targeted at the automotive sector.
"As the global automotive industry emerges from the recession, automakers are increasingly looking to offer customers breakthrough in-car navigation and infotainment solutions like Ford SYNC and MyFord Touch to create excitement and demand for their vehicles," said Bryan Mistele, president and CEO of INRIX. "Don's background and expertise is a perfect fit for INRIX as we lead the next wave of innovation working across the industry to speed to market high-quality breakthrough traffic information and navigation services."
Prior to joining INRIX, Don Butler was Vice President of OnStar, a wholly owned subsidiary of General Motors Corporation, where he was responsible for global and OEM business leading the deployment of OnStar to other OEM partners and outside the U.S. and Canada. Previously, Don had served as Vice President, Planning and Business Development from 2001 to 2005, when he established alliances with key business partners such as Verizon Wireless and Qualcomm, led the creation and development of new services such as Turn-by-Turn Navigation and OnStar Vehicle Diagnostics and developed the strategy which led to GM adopting OnStar as standard equipment in North American vehicles. In 2005, he was appointed Chairman and Managing Director, General Motors Egypt where he led the achievement of all time sales records in that country. Butler returned to the U.S. in 2007 where he was named Executive Director, Chevrolet Truck Marketing, guiding the Chevrolet truck brands through a critical time of restructuring in the U.S. market.
Don was the recipient of the 2005 National Black Engineer of the Year award for Technical Marketing in the U.S. and was honored as one of Top 50 Business Leaders of Egypt in 2007.
