Sociercise Real Time Running Races for iPhones provides competition opportunities anytime, anywhere
ATLANTA, Dec. 13, 2012 -- Sociercise, LLC, a technology start-up near Atlanta, GA,
has launched a new app that revolutionizes training for recreational
and professional runners. Sociercise Real Time Running Races for iPhone
is replacing expensive gadgets and time consuming tracking programs, and
uses a new technology that enables runners to compete in real time,
peer vs. peer races anytime, anywhere. The breakthrough app is simply
designed to harness the power of competition and social interaction to
motivate users to run faster, run more frequently, or to just run,
period.
In addition to hosting real time running races Sociercise is a full featured running app that boasts multiple tools such as run tracking, goal setting and
monitoring, and event sharing capabilities for social media platforms.
The racing application, a truly unique feature to this app, makes it
possible for runners to compete and train with other users in remote
locations in real time using the iPhone's GPS capabilities. Tom Vinkler and Bobby Valentine, co-creators of Sociercise, tested their technology on themselves before launching the app, with Bobby near Atlanta, Georgia and Tom residing in Hungary.
They believe harnessing the competitive nature of runners is a
motivation towards more efficient training, and that the supportive,
social aspect of the app brings new meaning to the words "training
partner."
An interesting twist to the development of Sociercise Real Time
Running Races is that the two developers have yet to meet in person. A
true company of the new era, Sociercise, LLC has used cloud based
technologies such as Skype, Google Drive, Dropbox, and more to build the
company without meeting face to face. The two founders do plan to meet
in person once a certain revenue milestone has been met by the company
but they declined comment on the actual figure.
A future version of Sociercise will enable non-profits to organize
fundraising races, using the same remote technology. During a set event
window, an organization can raise money directly through the Sociercise
platform, in which participants can race from their own location. Great
news for non-profits who won't be limited by geography or time frame -
saving overhead costs and increasing participation in events. The future
version of the app will also enable peer to peer racing and run
tracking for treadmill runners, using the iPhone's accelerometer. The
Sociercise app is expected to be a uniquely functional, and popular new
addition to the iPhone of any runner or fitness enthusiast. Download Sociercise Real Time Running Races from the Apple App Store free for a limited time starting December 13th.
