Phone2Gearth for S60 is a clever application enabling S60 (and S80)device users to use their favorite smartphone along with a bluetooth enabled GPS and enjoy the results using the popular Google Earth viewing client.
Here'es the premise... Phone2Gearth from Real Track Mobile is an easy Nokia Series 60 GPS aplication that allows to log tracks which are directly saved as Google Earth KML files - Note: KML is the proprietary data format that is read by the Google Earth client.
A simple, 4 step process is all it takes:
Enable/Set GPS Bluetooth
Click "Start" to begin capturing your GPS log
Export (via Bluetooth or file) to KML format
Import and view your log within Google Earth
For a sample, a blogger at "Digital Geography" has used the app and enjoyed the benefits to record some favorite placemarks. Imagine the next time you travel, you record locations and set placemarks at all your favorite places. Then you associate an image/photo with each place and you share with usings using the free Google Earth client.
