SANTA CLARA, CA November 28, 2012 Magellan, a leader of innovative GPS devices
for vehicles, fitness, outdoor and mobile navigation, today announced the
Magellan® RoadMate® 5255T-LM GPS navigator and Magellan Back-Up Camera safety
package, available at Canadian Tire Corp. This combination provides drivers with
top-quality GPS navigation features for safe, convenient traveling this holiday
season, plus peace-of-mind to see behind their vehicle.
Packaged with
the Magellan RoadMate 5255T-LM GPS is Magellans award-winning Wireless Back-up
Camera (http://www.magellangps.com/lp/back-up_camera/index.html).
When the vehicle is in reverse-mode, the RoadMate 5255T-LM will automatically
switch from navigation mode to become a rear-view monitor that allows the driver
to see what is behind the vehicle including children, pets and toys, or for
assistance when parking into a tight parking space.
The Magellan
RoadMate 5255T-LM GPS navigator includes free lifetime map updates and free
lifetime traffic alerts. Its 5.0-inch touchscreen display provides day and night
views for the most optimal visibility. Also included are several of Magellans
latest high-end features to make navigation safer and easier.
Landmark
Guidance gives drivers an easier way to navigate to their destinations by
telling them to turn at familiar landmarks such as gas stations, stores or other
large, easily-seen places instead of only street names that may be hard to
locate and read. Traffic Camera Alerts, powered by PhantomALERT, warn
drivers about upcoming red light and speed cameras on their route. Junction
View displays a realistic image of the road and highway signs, and shows
drivers the correct lane that the vehicle needs to be in for safe merging and
exits during their trip. BestParking.com helps drivers quickly locate parking
locations as well as the street to enter them and hours of operation.
OneTouch, another Magellan-exclusive feature, enables drivers to bookmark and
assign a button to their favorite destinations or searches for faster access.
Continuing to enhance the drivers experience, the Magellan RoadMate
5255T-LM includes CAA/AAA TourBook® information which provides drivers with
instant access to listings and descriptions of CAA/AAA Diamond-Rated restaurants
and accommodations, as well as attractions, events and campgrounds in Canada and
the U.S. Also included are Show Your Card & Save® locations for member
discounts, CAA/AAA Approved Auto Repair® and club-owned repair shops and CAA/AAA
branch office locations.
We are pleased to offer Canadian Tires
customers this complete solution with innovative navigational features to enrich
drivers confidence, comfort and safety, said Mark Perini, Associate Vice
President of Product Marketing for Magellan.
Available now from
Canadian Tire Corp. (http://goo.gl/nHXtW), the
Magellan RoadMate 5255T-LM including Magellans Back-Up Camera is $289.99
(MSRP).
