If you develop web apps and services or mobile apps, or perhaps are considering porting your apps to mobile / tablet devices then there's no doubt that HTML5 is an important consideration. And so, here's a list of 10 articles and resources that will be useful to those interested in learning more about HTML5.

10 Getting Started with HTML5 Resources & Tools:

w3schools is a fine resource with some excellent, basic html and html5 information, sample code, and testing tools. See common sample code, getting started materials, and see your code in an emulator to test prior to deployment.

How to make an html5 app for iOS - here's a basic but complete tutorial on how to develop a simple offline app for use on iPhone5... a good way to get started.

CodeProject has a very extensive resource for getting started with HTML5 - an introduction to all the new functionality and new elements are provided.

HTML5 Specification - Something for all developers is the official WC3 specification for HTML5. This is absolutely everything you need to get rolling with html5 and a fine addition to your library.

HTML5 presentation -  a complete online web presentation in slideshow format, complete with sample code and examples. Simple in concept but pretty darned useful and cool!

Is your browser html5 compliant? This online testing tool provides a score n your web browsers' compatibility with html5. There's also a comparison matrix provided as well

HTML5 & CSS3 for the Real World - Provided by SitePoint, this free e-book can help get you started with html5. This easy-to-follow guide covers everything you need to know to get started today. You'll master the new semantic markup available in HTML5, as well as how to use CSS3 without sacrificing clean markup or resorting to complex workarounds.

HTML5 First Look - perhaps video is your thing so here's some free video training on HTML5 from Lynda.com.  In HTML5 First Look, author James Williamson introduces the newest HTML specification, providing a high-level overview of HTML5 in its current state, how it differs from HTML4, the current level of support in various browsers and mobile devices, and how the specification might evolve in the future.
