Webraskas results fuelled by massive interest for GPS and fixed and mobile Internet mapping technologies and services
Paris, France March 21, 2006 Webraska, a leading provider of mobile GPS navigation solutions and high-end geospatial software platforms for wireless carriers and major service providers worldwide, is pleased to announce record breaking results for fiscal year 2005-2006. Revenues for the period covering April 2005 to March 2006 will reach 15 M, a 100% increase compared to fiscal year 2004-2005. Net income is expected to be over 6 M.
Revenues were generated by Webraskas two core products:
- Webraska SmartZone Geospatial Platform (SGP), Webraskas high-end geospatial platform, marketed in ASP mode or licensed to large service providers. Major Webraska customers include Sensis, a subsidiary of Telstra, Intelematics, TerraLinks, Siemens, Mobitel, Vodafone, Nextel and Orange.
- Webraska Navigation, a GPS assisted navigation software for mobile phones and PDA-phones running Java, Linux, Symbian and Microsoft Windows Mobile operating systems. This confirms the interest for GPS navigation services that resulted in the launch of GPS navigation services by Orange in France in 2004. Major launches in 2005 included Vodafone Navigator, Punch Telematix, Raywood, and Sensis WhereIs Navigator.
"The market for mobile GPS navigation applications is growing quickly. The upcoming introduction of GPS equipped mobile phones, and Webraska Navigations un-parallel map-matching quality, simplicity of use, real-time traffic-optimised routing, reliability, and compatibility with all major operating systems on the market, makes Webraska a clear winner with large service providers, device manufacturers and all users dreaming of stress less driving experiences," explained Jean-Michel Durocher, Webraskas co-founder and Executive Vice-President.
"In parallel, Webraskas SmartZone Geospatial Platform, which has the industrys fastest and most reliable mapping, routing, geocoding, local search and traffic engines, is being chosen by Mobile Carriers, Internet portals, Yellow Page companies, Directory Assistance operators, and Fleet Management operators in Europe, the US, South America and Asia Pacific, at an unprecedented rate," added Eric Nodé Langlois, CEO, Webraska. #END#
