CHICAGO, March 23 -- NAVTEQ (NYSE: NVT), a leading global provider of digital map data for location-based solutions and vehicle navigation, has been selected by Zillow.com to power its street and hybrid map views.
Zillow.com is a real estate website offering free valuations and data on more than 60 million homes across the United States. The information available on Zillow is linked to NAVTEQ(R) maps, allowing users to visually understand the location and placement of the property of interest.
As an industry leader, NAVTEQ employs over 550 field analysts that physically drive the roads, verifying and updating the map, to provide the delivery of a highly robust and precise geographic database. Recognizing the importance of location within this industry, Zillow engaged NAVTEQ to supply the map data necessary to add location relevance to a consumer's real estate searches.
"Making real estate information locally-relevant is essential," commented Jorrit Van der Meulen, Vice President of Zillow. "One of the building blocks to providing this experience is to engage with high quality sources of information. NAVTEQ's map data helps us to deliver a great experience to our consumers."
"Zillow's innovative use of map data continues the horizontal integration of maps into services which are valued by end users. As location-enabled services continue to grow, NAVTEQ is committed to delivering the highly accurate data that supports our customers' needs," commented Winston Guillory, Senior Vice President - Consumer & Business Sales. "We are excited to work with an organization whose founders bring a strong track record, and believe this will be a predictor of success as Zillow brings its consumer-focused real estate vision to life."
