CARDIFF, Wales--Feb. 8, 2006-- Companies Collaborate with Pronexus to Highlight New Capability at 3GSM World Congress; "I'm Lost" Demo Blends Together Rich Telephony, Natural Speech and Web Services
Ubiquity Software (LSE: UBQ.L), the leading provider of SIP software solutions that enable a new generation of communication services, today announced that it is working with Microsoft and Pronexus to demonstrate new mobile service capabilities at 3GSM World Congress. Specifically, these capabilities enable mobile operators and wireline service providers to quickly build and deploy innovative services that combine the power of rich multimedia, web services and natural speech technology to enhance user experience, increase average revenue per user (ARPU), generate new revenue streams and reduce customer churn.
In this demonstration, the Ubiquity SIP Application Server (SIP A/S) platform interoperates with Microsoft Connected Services Framework to simplify and accelerate the development of real-time multimedia applications that combine multiple web services with real-time voice and video services. Used together, the platforms give service providers the power to create compelling use cases, differentiated services, and ultimately, competitive advantage.
Pronexus extends the value of the platform with the addition of its veoMobile "natural speech" technology. Built on the Microsoft Speech Server 2004 R2 platform, veoMobile enables users to interact with applications through voice commands and receive results through text-to-speech responses. Offering an intuitive, natural speech interface simplifies user transactions and facilitates user adoption. It is a particularly powerful enhancement for mobile applications served to mobile phones where speech is the primary input.
Ubiquity and Microsoft will be demonstrating these mobile service capabilities at 3GSM World Congress in Barcelona, Spain from February 13 - 16, 2006. The demo application, called "I'm Lost", allows users to get directions to a location, such as their next appointment, by calling the application. The mobile application involves the interoperability of several different tools including email and collaboration, GIS/GPS, and contact management software. Demonstrations will be given at the Ubiquity and Microsoft stands:
Ubiquity Stand: Hall 1, C07
Microsoft Stand: Hall 1, C41
Show Hours 9am - 7pm
