Navigation Leader Unveils New Line Of Sport-Specific GPS Devices

Foothill Ranch, Calif. – Navman, a leading designer and manufacturer of world-class global positioning systems (GPS), communication and marine products, announced today the U.S. release of an exciting new line of GPS-based, electronic personal-training devices. The Navman Sport.Tool™, developed for the outdoor recreation and lifestyle markets, offers the ideal combination of accurate speed and distance; small, stylish design; sport-specific tailoring for optimal performance measurements; and affordability.

Designed for sports enthusiasts, Sport.Tool is the ultimate personal trainer – providing accurate, detailed performance statistics. The new device is available in 5 models, each specifically tailored for a particular sport with a unique feature set to maximize ease of use. Each Sport.Tool is ready to use right out of the box with no additional calibrations required. Models include:

Navman R300: An essential training companion, the Sport.Tool R300 is designed for running. The device provides audible pace alarms, distance and calorie measurements, lap history, automatic run timers and more. Unlike other products, Sport.Tool does not require runners to clip a second gadget onto their shoes or belt. Out of the box, the R300 is ready to track how far and how fast they are running.

Navman W300: Whether walking for fitness or fun, the W300 is a valuable resource. The device keeps track of time, distance, calories burned, speed and pace, helping to keep you at your preferred workout level while preventing overexertion. The W300 is the ideal tool for those getting back into fitness or wanting to push their limits in a controlled manner.

Navman S300: The S300 is the perfect complement to any inline skating experience. Chosen by the International FILATM Inline Speed Skating Team, it is feature packed for competition, fitness or fun. The S300 gives skaters accurate measurement of their performance. Features include: an automatic timer/stopwatch; current, average and maximum speeds; distance skated; and speed target zones with programmable alarms.

Navman M300: Designed for competitive water sports enthusiasts, the M300’s water-resistant design is ideal for surfing, windsurfing, sailing, kite-sailing, boating, jet skiing and

water skiing. The device measures current, maximum and average speed (in nautical miles and knots); displays heading; and automatically records time and distance for each lap completed.

Navman A300: The ultimate alpine electronic personal trainer, the Sport.Tool A300 is the first product on the market to provide an accurate measurement of downhill distance traveled. The device provides performance data based on speed, distance and altitude calculations, and features an innovative directional elevation algorithm that masks distance covered on the chairlift.

“Navman is a world leader in GPS technology and our Sport.Tool brings that technology to an exciting new market as the ultimate workout companion,” said Chris Jensen, VP, Navman USA, PCN and Lifestyle Products Division. “It’s powerful, easy to use and affordable - perfect for any sports enthusiast looking to keep track of their training for fitness, competition or sheer curiosity. With Sport.Tool, Now You Know!”

Sleek and stylish, Sport.Tool has a smooth triangular shape, designed to fit easily in the palm of the hand or strap comfortably to the upper arm. Its easy-to-read display provides at-a-glance performance statistics, and its intuitive 2-button control pad is easy to operate, even while wearing gloves. Each Sport.Tool model comes in its own dedicated color (optional accessory packs containing 3 different color faceplates will be available soon). All five Sport.Tool models display time, speed, average speed (accurate to within +/- 0.3km/h) and distance covered (accurate to within +/- 2%). Each model also has extra features tailored for particular sports. The devices operate on 1 AA battery providing up to 16 hours of use for the R300, W300, S300 and M300, and 10 hours for the A300. Rechargeable NiMh batteries are recommended.

Availability:
The Navman Sport.Tool is available online at www.Amazon.com and will be coming soon to specialty sporting goods retailers nationwide. These GPS trainers are competitively priced at U.S. $179.95 and include a 1-year warranty. For more information on Sport.Tool, visit www.sport-tool.com.
