December 22 Segment Features Teydos FleetOnline LBS Solution
POTOMAC FALLS, VA January 5, 2006 - The producers of December 22nds ABC Primetime segment testing the return rate of lost items throughout the country this holiday season utilized Teydo Americas FleetOnlines location-based services solution to track two deliberately lost items, according to Rob Groot, managing director, Teydo Americas.
Our FleetOnline solution was recommended to the shows producers, who were looking for a way to track the movement of lost items during the holiday season and measure the rate of return, Groot explained.
Our FleetOnline solution was a perfect match for their needs, said Groot. The items a purse left in the trunk of a rental car and a Tigger doll left in a Hollywood taxi - were equipped with a Trimble TrimTrac Locator, and the programs producers were able to track the movements of these goods via our FleetOnline web site, which utilizes GPS technology to track the movement of people and assets anywhere on earth.
Groot provided ongoing technical support to the producers as the program was developed. The FleetOnline site tracked the purse, which was returned five days after it was lost. The Tigger doll, however, has been bouncing all over Los Angeles for two weeks, and so far, it hasnt been found by anyone looking to send him home, according to the ABC News web site.
While not ordinarily used to track purses and childrens toys, FleetOnlines GPS location-based services solution can track anything that moves. Ideal for small and medium-sized enterprises that need to allocate and track mobile workforce and assets, FleetOnline can help businesses track and recover assets for under $500/year.
The FleetOnline GPS Solution Process:
FleetOnline gives small businesses all the advantages of enterprise GPS tracking systems without the cost and complexity.
The TrimTrac locator receives satellite signals from the U.S. Governments GPS satellites and reports its status, position, speed, and direction over any of the four GSM mobile networks in North America (AT&T Wireless, Cingular, T-Mobile and Microcell/Rogers).
FleetOnlines hosted system receives, processes and stores the data. Based on the information in the message, the hosted system executes certain particular functions. FleetOnlines system is Web accessible 24/7 for users, allowing for continuous operation and customer support.
Users with FleetOnline accounts can securely access only their own information, which is displayed in a Web browser on a map. Account sign in and Verisign encryption take care of keeping data proprietary and safe.
New! FleetOnline allows users to set up alerts that are delivered to the mobile phone, so in case of an emergency the owner will always be informed of any events, like unauthorized motion, geo fence violations, theft alerts or low battery levels.
