BOOYAH'S INCROWD HELPS FIND MR. AND MRS. POPULAR WITH NEW APP ON THE APP STORE
Mobile Social App for iPhone and iPod touch Presents a Playful Way to Make New Friends in Real-World Places
Booyah, a leading social web and mobile entertainment company, has officially launched InCrowd, a social game that lets users find new friends in real-world locations, on the App Store. As a leading partner for the newly announced Facebook Places application programming interface (API), InCrowd combines mobile GPS functionality and Facebook profiles to allow players to meet and interact with new people at real-world check-in locations. InCrowd is now available for iPhone and iPod touch.
"InCrowd gives players a completely new way to socialize real time at the places they love," said Keith Lee, CEO, Booyah. "We're compressing the barriers between digital social networks and the real world in a way that lets people find their friends or make new ones in a completely unique manner."
In InCrowd, players create their own customizable avatar, socialize, meet new friends, and track popularity when they check-in to their favorite real-life places using their iPhone or iPod touch. InCrowd players gain popularity when others respond using a series of in-game actions, such as booting them in the rear, sending them a wink, or posting about a venue. The more a player socializes with others, the more in-game points are rewarded to them for use in upgrading and personalizing their virtual avatar.
Booyah has seen similar success with the popular location-based mobile app MyTown, which enables players to unlock rewards by checking in to their physical location, as well as scanning real-world products to unlock in-game rewards. Currently, more than 3.2 million active players have taken up residence in MyTown.
Booyah's InCrowd is now available exclusively on the App Store for iPhone and iPod touch or at http://itunes.apple.com/us/app/incrowd/id386647048.
