Comprehensive Managed Service and Proven Veteran Leadership Position
Dash as Industry Resource For 9-1-1 Authorities Transitioning from
Legacy 911 to NG9-1-1
DALLAS (AUGUST 31, 2010) - Today from the 2010 Texas NENA Conference and CSEC, dash Carrier Services (dash) introduced dashESP, a comprehensive managed service based on its proven emergency call routing platform, which will empower 9-1-1 Authorities to transition from legacy 911 to Next Generation (NG) 9-1-1. In addition, Ray Paddock, a 25-year telecommunications and public safety industry veteran, has joined dash as Vice President for Public Safety.
dash CEO, Justin Nelson, commented that, "These milestones are significant for both carriers and 9-1-1 authorities making the transition to Next Generation emergency services."
dashESP managed service accepts emergency calls from carriers and delivers them to Public Safety Answering Points (PSAPs), which can use existing equipment they have in place today without modification, or upgrade to NG9-1-1 compliant systems. No matter how calls are accepted or delivered, dashESP routes the calls using components defined in the standard.
"9-1-1 authorities can take comfort in our track record and in our veteran team's ability to navigate them through this transition and help reap the benefits of NG9-1-1. The addition of Ray Paddock is a valuable complement to our extensive experience in emergency call routing for carriers and VoIP service providers," added Nelson.
Prior to joining dash, Mr. Paddock was Founder and CEO of StepFunction Strategies, a 9-1-1 consulting group. In that role, he successfully completed several product development engagements related to 9-1-1 and NG9-1-1, including the creation and management of the NENA NG9-1-1 Industry Collaboration Events program. Mr. Paddock also served as Intrado's Vice President of Marketing, Business Development and Product Management, during which time he managed and oversaw the complete product portfolio for independent and competitive exchange carrier clientele.
