New app brings high-level personal security to iPhone at an affordable price
LOS ANGELES-- AMP, LLC (Advanced Mobile Protection) today announced the availability of its OnCall DefenderT App on the App Store. This revolutionary app gives iPhone users a panic alarm and a medical alert, or a combination of the two, and connects subscribers to a 24-hour monitoring station with a direct line to law enforcement and EMS dispatch. The OnCall Defender App addresses the widespread problem of violent attacks and unanswered calls for help by putting a personal protection solution in the palm of user's hands.
"When we saw what was possible with iPhone and the App Store we knew we were able to realize this vision."
"We have long understood the need to bring high-level protection to the consumer at an affordable cost," said Fred Newman, co-founder and Chief Executive Officer of AMP, LLC. "When we saw what was possible with iPhone and the App Store we knew we were able to realize this vision."
OnCall Defender provides potential victims with a greater sense of security and reassurance. Panic alarms can be sent with either a high-pitched police siren to create attention, or as a silent alarm sent secretly to the monitoring station. Taking advantage of iPhone's location-based technology, OnCall Defender features fast location acquisition to determine where the alarm is being sent from, and continuous ten-second tracking, keeping first responders informed from the moment they are connected. This feature is particularly important in kidnappings and car-jackings. Additionally, the OnCall Defender App provides the central monitoring station with important background details such as restraining orders, medical conditions, location details and a photo of the victim, to further assess and assist the urgent situation.
The OnCall Defender App puts safety first and can be critical for people with medical conditions, travelers, or anyone at risk, including teenagers, college students, sports enthusiasts and people who work alone, late at night or in high-risk environments. The app was created by security technology experts who have spent the past twenty-five years dealing with high-level integrated security, false alarms and response issues. The application lets users run a network connection test to ensure connectivity to the monitoring station, the GPS satellite and the cellular network, as well as test the siren and medical alert. If the alarm is triggered accidentally, the user has 15 seconds to disarm, even though the alarm data is sent to the monitoring station immediately.
AMP shares its vision for safety with women's organizations such as the YWCA, whose programs for women and girls instill the skills and tools needed to stand up against and prevent violent attacks, including domestic violence.
"Among the preventative tools that people can use to ensure peace of mind wherever they go, OnCall Defender offers a fresh, high-tech approach that is easily accessible to so many people today," said Julia Miele, executive director of the YWCA Santa Monica/Westside.
The OnCall Defender App is available for free from the App Store on iPhone or at www.itunes.com/appstore.
Monitoring services are available in the contiguous United States, Alaska, Hawaii, Puerto Rico and the U.S. Virgin Islands. The OnCall Defender App requires an active cellular service account and the user's device must have an available GPS signal and cellular or Wi-Fi connection. Three service plans are available with pricing starting at $6.99 per month for the panic alarm, $9.99 per month for the medical alert, and $11.99 per month for the combination.
