Companys Flexible NAVBuilder Suite of BREW Extensions Enables Seamless Integration of Location-Based Services into BREW Applications
SAN DIEGO June 1, 2005 Networks In Motion, the award winning Wireless Navigation and LBS company, is proud to announce the availability of its NAVBuilder suite of extensions developed for QUALCOMMs BREW solution. First introduced at the BREW 2004 Conference, the product is now available and can be used by BREW developers creating LBS and applications. The company will be showcasing its product at booth #72 at the BREW 2005 Conference, being held June 1-3 in San Diego.
Designed to speed time to market and reduce design and development costs, Networks In Motions NAVBuilder extensions feature powerful location, mapping and direction capabilities that easily can be integrated into wireless applications supported by QUALCOMMs QPoint location services solution and precision gpsOne location technology. The NAVBuilder BREW extensions offer a cost-effective, flexible developer toolkit for commercial and consumer location-enabled applications, such as field service, customer relationship management, fleet management, field force automation, friend finders and location-enabled gaming.
A year ago, NAVBuilder was a concept in the making, said Michael Sheha, CTO, Networks In Motion. Today, it is a product thats available to provide a reliable LBS solution for the rapid delivery of a broad range of new wireless consumer and enterprise applications. We believe location-aware applications will become an integral part of every mobile users life and we anticipate that NAVBuilder will accelerate that development.
Networks In Motion's NAVBuilder BREW extensions enable developers to integrate LBS-related features, such as maps, driving directions and proximity searches, into their applications and business processes. NAVBuilder extensions also provide an extensive set of mapping-related content, such as business listings and points of interest. The powerful mapping technology delivers high-quality, full-color maps that can be panned or zoomed, and can support accurate turn-by-turn directions.
Networks In Motion is developing innovative extensions designed to enhance the usability of BREW location services applications, said Tom Grieco, senior director of Developer Relations for QUALCOMM Internet Services. QUALCOMM is pleased that the BREW solution is playing an integral role in evolving and extending location-based service applications for both consumer and enterprise users.
QUALCOMM's BREW solution is designed to meet the distinct and varied needs of wireless operators, handset manufacturers, publishers, developers and end users around the world. BREW products and services include: an open, extensible client platform that supports robust system and application software including personalized and branded user interfaces for mass market devices; a J2EE-based, modular delivery system that enables the distribution of content, applications and user interfaces to wireless devices across all air interfaces; a dedicated professional services team that supports the integration of customized implementations; and the wireless industry's first global marketplace to support the monetization of applications and services developed in all programming languages. The BREW solution can make the wireless visions of innovative companies a reality.
