GoTrax offers advanced locate and track tools for fleets and mobile workforces
TORONTO, ON, June 2 - Bell Mobility, a division of Bell
Canada and the leader in wireless innovation, today launched GoTrax, the most
advanced and affordable wireless tracking system for small and medium sized
businesses. GoTrax represents Canada's first ever handset-based technology
that allows resources to be tracked in places where traditional GPS signals
don't work.
"Big businesses have used remote tracking services to dramatically reduce
costs, and improve productivity and customer service for some time," said Jim
Jacques, Senior Vice-President Marketing, Bell Canada. "We have designed
GoTrax as a highly innovative but low-cost remote-tracking solution for SMEs
that delivers productivity and service improvements available previously only
to major corporations."
GoTrax uses Assisted GPS - a unique combination of global positioning
system (GPS) and Bell Mobility wireless technologies - to provide companies
with the ability to achieve faster response times to customer service calls,
make more efficient use of field force resources, offer added security for
mobile employees and leverage investments in existing wireless devices.
Designed with transportation, utility, courier/delivery, field service,
security, construction and distribution industries in mind, GoTrax enables
businesses to affordably track fleets, field service representatives and other
external resources over the Internet with greater flexibility than ever
before.
GoTrax uses familiar technology - wireless handsets and the Internet -
that are quickly adaptable by users. It gives users unlimited ability to
locate individual or multiple assets such as vehicles, packages and
individuals, issue proximity alerts, maintain daily interactive activity logs,
and run detailed reports from one or multiple locations.
GoTrax also sets a new standard for location-based privacy with necessary
pass codes and mandatory permission requirements that puts the customer in
control of privacy.
GoTrax is available across Bell Mobility's national 1X network. The
service can be added to new and existing Bell Mobility accounts for a $10
application fee. The minimum, 20 locates per month, costs $5, up to a maximum
of 2,500 locates for $30 per month. Out of bundle locates are $0.05 a locate.
A consumer application offering similar features called Seek & Find will
launch in June. It will be Canada's first wireless location-based system for
families. Designed with security, peace of mind, privacy and safety at the
fore, Seek & Find will give Bell Mobility subscribers the unlimited ability to
simultaneously locate multiple individuals from their homes or offices.
Customers will have full control over whom and how much they want to locate,
and can set up regular alerts that correspond to daily routines such as
arrivals from work or school, while individuals receive location notification
via a text message to their handset.
Bell Canada, Canada's national leader in communications, provides
connectivity to residential and business customers through wired and wireless
voice and data communications, local and long distance phone services, high
speed and wireless Internet access, IP-broadband services, e-business
