Telogis Works With NAVTEQ Network for Developers NN4D to Support Enterprise Application Developer Community
Telogis joins NN4D partner zone program to stimulate development of robust enterprise applications through technical resources and tools integrated with Microsoft Visual Studio(R)
CHICAGO, March 17 -- NAVTEQ, the leading global provider of digital map, traffic and location data for in-vehicle, portable, wireless and enterprise solutions, announced that Telogis, a leading platform provider of location intelligence, recently joined NAVTEQ Network for Developers (NN4D) as part of the partner zone program. Through the collaboration, Telogis is making its technical resources and tools for advanced enterprise application development available to Location-Based Services (LBS) and Geographic Information System (GIS) developers worldwide, while NAVTEQ is providing sample map data for regions throughout the world, as well as real-time and predictive traffic information, commercial vehicle and turn restrictions data.
Through NN4D, a leading developer program for LBS application developers, enterprise developers also get access to GeoZone, a free environment for building enterprise LBS applications with the Telogis GeoBase software development kit (SDK). Registered GeoZone members get a free 30-day trial license to the Telogis GeoBase SDK, which includes ASP.NET, JavaScript and Silverlight application programming interfaces (APIs), as well as software libraries and associated documentation for developing geospatial applications for the Web and for server, desktop and mobile navigation. GeoZone members also have access to sample code, tutorials, whitepapers, FAQs and community forums.
GeoBase is a fast, flexible, easy-to-use, geospatial platform with functionality to offer modern mapping applications to enterprise customers worldwide, leveraging NAVTEQ's high-quality map data and location content. The SDK simplifies geospatial software development and provides a scalable, stable foundation for building applications that leverage spatial data for geographies around the world. Telogis GeoBase is designed for .NET to enable rapid application development and integrates fully with Microsoft Visual Studio.
The Telogis GeoBase SDK offers flexible deployment models by using a single-data format, code base and object model, as well as flexible licensing models. Functionalities include rich and detailed mapping; geocoding and reverse geocoding; route optimization for mobile workers based on truck restrictions and traffic information, enabling multi-stop optimization and customized route strategies; a navigation toolkit; and the ability to easily integrate third-party GIS data and layer it on top of the road network. Developers get access to many of NAVTEQ's advanced data sets with GeoBase, including NAVTEQ TransportT, real-time and historic traffic information via NAVTEQ TrafficT, and NAVTEQ map data for North America, South America and Europe, Middle East & Africa (EMEA).
"Telogis is one of the leading global platforms for enterprise location-based services. Their new partner zone on NN4D.com and the technical resources and tools Telogis provides are welcome additions to our global developer offering," says Marc Naddell, vice president, partner and developer programs, NAVTEQ. "Telogis has effectively incorporated a broad range of NAVTEQ map data and location content into their platform, and the GeoBase SDK's ease of use, scalability, and fast and accurate integration of new data give NN4D members access to a powerful set of innovative tools and resources for advanced enterprise LBS development."
Developers can find the Telogis partner zone on NN4D at http://www.nn4d.com/site/global/build/partner_apis_services/geobase/p_geobase.jsp.
