Dayton Ohio, February 16, 2010 - TDC Group, Inc., developers of
FreeanceT Mobile software that brings GIS to BlackBerryr smartphones,
announced today the release of Freeance View, a free version of their
industry leading mobile GIS software.
Freeance View is a new enterprise application that works with ESRI's ArcGISr Server software and which provides access to live ArcGIS map services from BlackBerry smartphones. IT and GIS system administrators can now add Freeance View to their network and configure custom ArcGIS Server mapping applications for an unlimited number of BlackBerry smartphone users in their organization.
Freeance View is also BlackBerry device application - available for free download - which runs on almost any BlackBerry smartphone model from any wireless carrier. The Freeance View application can be easily downloaded from www.GISonBlackBerry.com and allows BlackBerry smartphone users to start accessing GIS map layers and data. Zooming, panning, searching, features select, geocoding, layer control and GPS locating are just some of the features available in Freeance View software.
There are 30 million BlackBerry smartphone users worldwide, many of whom would realize productivity gains if they had mobile access to rich, mission-critical GIS data. With the release of Freeance View these two platforms are now easily integrated in a free, easy-to-use package.
"Expanding GIS to a whole new group of uses so that organizations can increase productivity and their return on existing technology investments, especially for government agencies during this economic belt-tightening, is the goal of Freeance View." Says Matthew Reddington, CEO of TDC Group, Inc. "We have new releases of Freeance View scheduled for this year that will further increase the functionality, speed and usability of GIS on BlackBerry.
Why Free? "Because the best way to improve a product is to get as many people using it as possible so they can feed back information to us. Our customers know more about what they need than we do," comments Reddington.
Freeance View software joins the Freeance Mobile product line consisting of Freeance Mobile Basic and Freeance Mobile Pro Editions for ESRI's ArcIMS and ArcGIS Server software.
Information and downloads for Freeance View software are now available at www.GISonBlackBerry.com.
