Descartes Announces Global Successes With Value-Added Resellers

WATERLOO, Ontario-- June 1, 2005--The Descartes Systems Group Inc. (NASDAQ:DSGX) (TSX:DSG), a leading provider of on-demand technology and services that help distribution- and logistics-sensitive organizations deliver, today announced some recent successes through its distribution relationships with value-added resellers across the world.
Descartes currently has distribution relationships with over 20 different companies, including the resellers listed at www.descartes.com/company/partners/vars.html, to make Descartes' technology available to different markets and geographies across the world. These resellers help to extend the reach of Descartes' solutions across the Americas, Europe, the Middle East, Africa and Asia-Pacific. Recent successes with these resellers include the following:
-- Routing Systems Informatica Ltda. (RSI) has been a Descartes reseller for over a decade. Based in Sao Paulo, Brazil, RSI has achieved continued success in recent months with new customer wins and expansions of existing customer licenses to Descartes' products. RSI is currently deploying Descartes' Routing and Scheduling solutions at several of Brazil's largest soft drink bottlers and food manufacturers. "Our commitment to our customers and to Descartes' technology has helped us to become a market leader for routing and scheduling in Brazil," said Rui Alencar, CEO of RSI. "We have hundreds of installed sites and continue to grow. With deployments of Descartes' new Routing and Scheduling solutions and enhanced mapping technology, our customers are benefiting with measurable results. -- The Logistics Bureau (Pty) Ltd (TLB), based in Johannesburg, South Africa, has been a Descartes reseller for over a decade and continues to achieve growth and success in Africa and the Middle East, including a recent contract with a leading Middle East beverage manufacturer. "We are embarking on a routing and scheduling solution pilot spanning numerous Middle Eastern countries with the potential for expansion in both geography and fleet size throughout the region," noted Rob Henson, Business Development Manager for TLB. "To our knowledge, this will be the first deployment of routing and scheduling technology in this particular region."
-- Optimize Solutions, a long-time Descartes' reseller based in Barcelona, Spain, is currently implementing Descartes' Routing and Scheduling solution at a leading producer of milk and dairy products in Spain. "Descartes' technology has enabled us to stand out as a leading provider of innovative solutions that address distribution, transportation and supply chain challenges," said Francisco Esteve, Operations Manger of Optimize Solutions. "We are excited about the opportunity to generate new business and expand our existing client relationships using Descartes' new Logistics Network Operating System (LNOS)-based solutions."
-- Telefonica Data Mexico, S.A. de C.V., part of the Forbes' Global 2000 recognized Telefonica group of companies and Descartes' partner based in Mexico, has successfully deployed Descartes' Transportation Management solution at three leading consumer product manufacturers with operations in Mexico. "We have enabled our customers to manage hundreds of carriers and millions of loads more efficiently and effectively with Descartes' Transportation Management solution," said Juan Carlos Espinosa Ortega, Solutions Director at Telefonica Data Mexico. "Descartes' internet-enabled tools have allowed our customers to centralize operations across distribution centers, saving them time and money. We plan to expand our offering of Descartes' leading-edge technology services throughout Mexico and Central America."
-- 3PL Links Inc., a Descartes reseller in Ontario, Canada, has deployed Descartes' Transportation Management solution to numerous customers in both the US and Canada for planning and executing deliveries. "The manufacturing and distribution customers that we serve leverage 3PL Links' logistics and technology expertise, as well as our consolidated buying power," said Jason Read, Vice President at 3PL Links. "The combined value proposition of Descartes' Transportation Management solution and the lower rates we negotiate with contract carriers can help our customers significantly reduce their operating costs. Descartes' Transportation Management solution lets our logistics coordinators remotely manage our customers' global and local transportation requirements so that inbound and outbound shipments meet service expectations and are executed at the right price."
-- Integrated Logistics Inc., a Descartes reseller since 2003 that is based in Connecticut, United States, is deploying Descartes' Routing and Scheduling solution, including wireless capabilities, across the Northeastern United States operations of one of the world's largest recyclers of used beverage containers.
-- IER S.A., a reseller based in Paris, France and a subsidiary of the Bollore Group, is deploying Descartes' Routing and Scheduling solution at two new customers in France: a leader in the food industry; and the local operations of one of the world's largest office supply firms.
-- Technology Brokers Inc. (TBI), a provider of specialized supply chain management solutions for Latin American companies in the food and beverage, consumer products, retail, and transportation industries, has been retained to implement Descartes' Routing and Scheduling solution at one of the largest beverage bottlers in El Salvador.
-- Infoway S.A. de Informatica, a Descartes reseller based in Argentina, recently expanded the deployment of Descartes' Routing and Scheduling solution across the Argentinean operations of a leading, UK-based tobacco products manufacturer.
