Stampede Technologies Announces SkipWare Acceleration Product Line for Accelerating Military Satellite Networks
Dayton, Ohio, February 9, 2009 - Stampede Technologies, Inc. (www.stampede.com), a leading provider of WAN optimization and acceleration solutions for Satellite and terrestrial-based networks, announced they have signed an OEM agreement with Global Protocols, Inc. (GPI) for integrating SkipWare onto its FX Series appliances designed to accelerate and optimize satellite communications for IP traffic. Stampede will include SkipWare on the FX 1000, FX 2000 and FX 4000 Series of WAN Optimization appliances to help military organizations achieve greater application performance across mission-critical satellite networks, while maintaining Space Communication Protocol Standards (SCPS-TP) interoperability. With SkipWare integrated into the FX Series appliances from Stampede, government agencies will have faster and more secure delivery of mission-critical information needed to do their job from any remote location.
Military satellite communications are subjected to a harsh array of environmental and operational conditions that can drastically impair the performance of the network. While satellites enable mobility and communications in remote locations, bandwidth efficiency and throughput is reduced by link latency, weather effects, interference, blockage, and TCP and application protocol inefficiencies that can jeopardize operations. SCPS-TP is a protocol solution that military organizations throughout the U.S. Department of Defense (DoD) rely on. Global Protocols' SkipWare, is an SCPS-TP implementation that has become the "defacto standard" transport protocol for military satellite communications. SkipWare is the industry's first commercial SCPS-TP implementation used to overcome challenges associated with satellite WANs and deliver a reliable satellite communications in support of military missions, regardless of the operating conditions.
Many of today's WAN optimization solutions are not SCPS-TP-compliant and therefore lack the degree of interoperability desired by the military. On the other hand, standalone SCPS-TP implementations are limited in their acceleration capabilities. Stampede offers the best of both, a robust implementation of SCPS-TP with SkipWare that delivers total interoperability with existing SCPS-TP devices, and rich integrated WAN optimization and acceleration features within a single solution. The Stampede FX Series is a fully-integrated solution, allowing users to acquire the solution and easily deploy it - no other software or implementation service is required.
"We are very enthusiastic about this partnership and the future of the FX Series SCPS product line", said Global Protocols VP, Business Development Nick Yuran. "Stampede has a robust set of WAN optimization features that the market is ready to embrace, and they understand the customer requirements in the Satellite market".
Stampede will be exhibiting at Satellite 2010 in Washington, DC on March 16-18, 2010 - Booth #449 at the Gaylord National Convention Center.
About Stampede Technologies
Stampede Technologies is a pioneering innovator of WAN optimization and application acceleration. Stampede provides flexible solutions that solve a variety of difficult challenges that inhibit Internet Service Providers from taking advantage of the full potential of their networks, and prevent their customers from receiving the best possible network performance over terrestrial and satellite broadband networks.
