If someone had said a few years ago that you could search through over 620,000 houses for sale
and rent on your mobile phone, see them on an interactive listing or
map and be given directions straight to each one's front door, then few
would have believed you
But today's launch of the FindaProperty.com iPhone application
offers just that and much more. And it's free to download at the iPhone
application store or from iTunes - now - just type in 'findaproperty'
to find it.

The new property app
offers features that fully exploit the handsets touch screen, rotate
and accelerometer functions. The home screen (see left) begins simply,
prompting users to search for properties for sale or rent or to
locate an agent using either postcode, place name or my location;
and then the functionality kicks in.
Feel-good functionality includes the property search
refine sliders for radius, price and number of bedrooms but the most
engaging feature is the app's use of maps, both within its search
results (enabling maps to be populated with interactive for sale pins
-see below) and by offering house hunters directions to a property (on
foot, by car or on public transport) in Google Maps.
And if youre in an area and want to see properties for sale around
you, a single tap from the home page populates a map, again with active
icons that click through to full property listings a feature not
offered by competitors.
The touch screen is used to its full potential too. Rather than use
back buttons to navigate, FindaProperty.coms listings can be browsed
with screen swipes which, for example, enables users to navigate from
one full details listing (see above, right) to another without
having to return to the main scrolling list.
And tip the iPhone
over within a full details listing and it converts into a photos only
mode which can then be browsed using the touch screen functionality.
