ZoomSafer partners with Wirefly to increase use of safe driving software on the road
WASHINGTON, D.C. - ZoomSafer, the leading provider of innovative solutions to prevent distracted driving, launched its new web site today and unveiled a ground-breaking marketing program offering consumers a BlackBerry smartphone equipped to run ZoomSafer's safe driving software.
Determined to eliminate dangerous driving distractions due to texting and emailing - ZoomSafer has teamed up with Wirefly to furnish ZoomSafer-supported BlackBerry smartphones for FREE with select service plans to qualifying customers of every major U.S. wireless provider.
"We've created flexible software for smartphones that automatically knows when you're driving and actively encourages you to use your phone in a safe, responsible, and hands-free manner," said ZoomSafer co-founder Matt Howard. "Thanks to our partnership with Wirefly, the internet's leading authorized retailer of cell phones and plans, we're offering, at no upfront cost, BlackBerry smartphones so that current or new wireless subscribers can use ZoomSafer to answer the distracted driving problem."
ZoomSafer locks your BlackBerry's keypad when you begin driving to prevent outbound texting and emailing. Inbound alerts are suppressed temporarily to eliminate the temptation to look at your phone, and a reply is automatically dispatched on your behalf letting the sender know you're driving and you'll get back to them when you reach your destination. ZoomSafer also allows you to make and receive hands-free phone calls.
"Wireless devices have awarded us the freedom to stay connected with our family and friends and to conduct business anytime, anywhere. Unfortunately, our inability to `disconnect' while driving has created serious safety concerns," said Andy Zeinfeld, chief executive officer of Simplexity, parent company of Wirefly.com. "Wirefly is one of the largest distributors of wireless products in America today. And as an industry leader, we recognize we have an unprecedented opportunity to offer a low-cost solution to a very serious problem associated with cell phone usage."
