Richmond Hill, Ontario – November 18, 2005: PCI Geomatics® is pleased to announce the release of Geomatica® 10. The latest version of the company’s revolutionary image-centric geospatial software emphasizes automation, productivity, and support for more than 100 geospatial data formats. Geomatica offers solutions for various geomatics processing requirements, while maintaining interoperability with outside software packages.

Geomatica 10 introduces significant new features and enhancements, including Smart Digitizer™ technology for semi-automated feature extraction, enhanced charting, complete Oracle 10g support, and new atmospheric correction algorithms for hyperspectral data.

As part of our commitment to continually improving our products, Geomatica 10 offers better performance, even more supported formats, and new satellite sensor support. Advancements in photogrammetry include automatic ground control point collection, automated ortho-mosaic workflows, and enhanced exterior orientation reporting and editing functionality for even greater accuracy and efficiency.

PCI Geomatics initiated a Beta program for Geomatica 10 allowing testers to rate and provide suggestions on the software. The program proved to be a great success, providing valuable feedback with many suggestions incorporated into the release. Comments from testers suggest that they enjoyed the new functions, increased speed and user-friendliness, and believe it to exceed other software in its class.

“We at PCI Geomatics are extremely proud of Geomatica 10. We have listened very carefully to our customers and testers, and have taken the time to really focus on their needs,” said Dr. Robert Moses, President and Chief Executive Officer of PCI Geomatics. “To ensure their satisfaction we have developed a product that will promote ease-of-use and provide greater productivity in the workplace.”

PCI Geomatics has integrated features through key partnerships to ensure Geomatica 10 is at the forefront of the geospatial industry. In particular, our strong alliance with Oracle has enabled Geomatica 10 to fully exploit Oracle 10g and make uploading and downloading multiple-formatted and large quantities of data effortless.

“We have excellent relationships with our partners and are excited about the integration of the key features in Geomatica 10. These new features have allowed greater flexibility within the software, while promoting standardization and interoperability: key ingredients to any software’s success,” said Dr. Moses.
