GeoLife Ltd and PosiMotion LLC today announced the availability of Navmii personal turn-by-turn navigation for the iPod touch.
LONDON, November 12-Navmii Software Bring Turn-by-Turn Navigation to iPod Touch and iPhone
- Available Now From Apple iTunes for only GBP29.99 for UK Maps
- Itunes link: http://tinyurl.com/yevkbw7
The Navmii software, combined with PosiMotion's G-Fi mobile network/GPS router, provides turn-by-turn navigation in the iPod touch for the first time.
iPod touch owners with both the G-Fi hardware and Navmii software will be able to use their iPod touch for satellite navigation with smart routing, interactive maps and spoken directions.
PosiMotion's G-Fi streams a precise GPS signal to iPod touch. Like the Navmii software, the G-Fi is a one-time cost, with no additional monthly costs or charges. It supports the whole iPod touch and iPhone family, providing GPS from one G-Fi to up to 200 Apple devices simultaneously when in range. It also allows for data sharing and network multiplayer gaming between Apple devices.
Peter Atalla, CEO of Navmii said: "At last more than 20 million iPod touch users, and many first generation iPhone owners can access simple, accurate, turn-by-turn navigation on their favourite device. Combining Geolife's Navmii with the PosiMotion's G-Fi brings secure personal navigation to a whole new audience. Why buy an in-car solution SatNav when you can simply add the functionality to your iPod touch or iPhone at a fraction of the cost?"
Olivier Hennessy, President/CEO of PosiMotion said: "Navmii powered by G-Fi creates the first real navigation solution that many iPod touch owners desire. We are very proud to be working with GeoLife, one of the most reputable navigation companies in the world, to bring the first turn-by-turn navigation to the iPod touch."
Navmii is also available for iPhone 3G and 3GS from the Apple iTunes App Store now.
