& iPod touchr customers can richly edit Microsoft Word files,
synchronize important desktop files and send & receive Exchange
attachments
MILFORD, Conn.-- DataViz, Inc., a leading provider of Microsoft Office compatibility solutions, today announced the immediate availability of their highly anticipated mobile Office suite application, Documents To Go, on the Apple App Store. The app brings iPhone and iPod touch users the culmination of over 10 years of DataViz experience providing mobile professionals a robust and easy-to-use mobile Office suite for "anytime, anywhere" access to their important documents. Users can view, edit and create Microsoft Word files, including Word 2007, and utilize a desktop application to provide 2-way file synchronization. A version with support for attachments is also available for Microsoft Exchange e-mail users who need to send, receive and edit attachments on their iPhones.
"There has been an overwhelming interest in Documents To Go and we're very excited to expand our product line to include the revolutionary iPhone and iPod touch," said Dick Fontana, DataViz co-founder & CEO. "We started our company in 1984 around Apple and the Macintosh, so it's personally gratifying to see everything come full circle with an App Store application as we celebrate our twenty-fifth year in business."
View, Edit & Create Microsoft Word Files
For the mobile professional or home user who needs to use Word documents on iPhone or iPod touch, Documents To Go is the ideal solution. Documents To Go supports many advanced viewing and editing features, including touch navigation, cut/copy/paste, text selection, predictive text entry, bulleted and numbered lists, bold, italics, underline, embedded pictures, tables, word count, password-protected files and the ability to edit in landscape view. Customers can edit their Word documents with confidence thanks to DataViz's acclaimed InTact TechnologyT which ensures that all original file formatting is retained once a file has been edited and forwarded on.
Documents To Go also incorporates Apple's built-in viewing technology for dealing with other important files such as Excelr, PowerPointr, PDF and Apple iWorkr. This key feature keeps all important files in one central location and makes managing and using them simple and straightforward.
Synchronize Files With Desktop Application
Documents To Go includes a desktop application that provides Windows and Macintosh customers with the ability to easily transfer desktop files to their device using a Wi-Fi connection. Customers can "set it and forget it" by adding entire folders or select single files within a folder. More importantly, during synchronization, Documents To Go checks to make sure all documents on the iPhone are current. If any changes are made on either the desktop or iPhone, Documents To Go will automatically make sure the latest copy is on both the desktop and iPhone or iPod touch.
Receive, Edit & Send Microsoft Exchange Attachments
For Microsoft Exchange email users, a version called Documents To Go with Exchange Attachments includes a built-in email client which allows customers to download, view, edit and send Word attachments while on the go. This integrated portion of the product uses the Microsoft Exchange ActiveSync technology, which DataViz has licensed from Microsoft since early 2005, to provide secure, wireless synchronization with Exchange Server 2003 and 2007 e-mail. Customers can make changes to their Word documents and immediately reply back with the updated files. In addition, Excel, PowerPoint, PDF and other attachment types can be viewed as well as attached to new e-mails sent from within Documents To Go.
Pricing & Availability
Documents To Go and Documents To Go with Exchange Attachments are available for a special limited-time price of $4.99 and $9.99 respectively from Apple's App Store on iPhone and iPod touch or at www.itunes.com/appstore/
All customers who purchase version 1.0 will receive a free update which will include support for editing and creating Microsoft Excel spreadsheets, when available. Supported devices include any iPhone or iPod touch model running iPhone Software Update 2.2 or above. The Documents To Go Desktop software is compatible with Windows XP, Vista and Mac OS X 10.4.10 and above. For more information: www.dataviz.com/GetiPhone
