Acquis and Holonics Combine Real-time Geospatial Capabilities with Business Data within Corporate and Government IT Systems

Palo Alto Calif., - October 24, 2005 - Acquis Inc, a world leader in Enterprise Location software, and Holonics Inc., an information technology consulting firm, today announced a strategic partnership to develop 'Open Enterprise Spatial Solutions' by adding real-time spatial data processing to enterprise and government systems.  Holonics chose Acquis ADE, a web-enabled spatial data platform which comes pre configured with the Oracle 10g product stack, to integrate spatial data and real-time data processing within a web environment. Organizations will benefit from a very cost effective solution which greatly improves access to all data and enables interactive real-time location services.

Many organizations see the entire enterprise pieced together with poorly integrated selections of proprietary software, particularly GIS, which has been expensive to implement with little ROI.  As organizations realize the benefit and competitive edge spatial and location information add to their operational efficiency, it also becomes clear that spatial technology must be seamlessly integrated across the entire enterprise to make it cost effective and truly beneficial.

"Many of our clients have a requirement for web-based editing of geospatial data while simultaneously connecting to a variety of background data sources through OGC interfaces," said Mr. Pierre Lafond, president of Holonics.  "After a thorough search of software solutions in the marketplace, we concluded that the combination of Acquis Data Editor and Oracle 10g Map Viewer provided us the most cost-effective solution by far. We see a tremendous potential in spatially-enabling our clients' strategic business systems using Acquis ADE at a fraction of the cost that a traditional GIS solution would require"

"We have seen the trend in the market moving from GIS to Spatial Information Management (SIM) and in particular Enterprise Location Services for some time now.  Holonics has an innovative approach and extensive experience on Oracle.  Adopting ADE as the technology to deliver spatially enabled e-business solutions was a natural evolution." said Liam Mc Geown, CEO of Acquis.  "Our core philosophies are similar, we believe in providing open and accessible solutions and Holonics is committed to developing open non-proprietary systems.  We are looking forward to working with partners like Holonics and opening up the spatial information market to enterprises and government agencies."

"We see the strong support of OGC specifications by software vendors as well as significant support of geospatial operations in standard relational databases such as Oracle 10g as signs that the market has reached a certain level of maturity in terms of 'Open Spatial Enterprise'." said Mr. Pierre Lafond, president of Holonics. "This allows our clients to integrate their business and geospatial information architectures into a cohesive open environment and use the most cost-effective tools for specific purposes."
