Monday, 24 October 2005

HUNTSVILLE, Ala.---Oct. 24, 2005--  National Defense Systems Expert to Lead Company's Federal Unit

Intergraph (NASDAQ: INGR) today announced that retired U.S. Army Maj. Gen. John W. Holly has agreed to join the company as senior vice president and general manager of its Federal Solutions business unit, part of Intergraph's Security, Government & Infrastructure division. Holly, a recognized expert in the research, development and acquisition of complex Department of Defense systems, will assume operational responsibilities from Dr. William Salter, who announced his retirement earlier this year after a distinguished 32-year career at Intergraph. Holly will be responsible for directing Intergraph's continued growth in the national defense and federal security market sectors.

"Maj. Gen. Holly's distinguished career in the military and breadth of experience at every level of national defense from program management and infrastructure construction to simulation, testing and fielding of national strategic systems make him a valuable addition to our executive management team," said R. Halsey Wise, Intergraph's president and chief executive officer. "John's proven leadership and experience will provide a valuable perspective to Intergraph as we continue to strengthen our Federal Solutions business built by Bill Salter. I am truly grateful for Bill's years of dedicated service and commitment to Intergraph, and I am privileged to call him a close friend and valued adviser."

Holly said, "Intergraph's unique ability to link together spatial and location-based expertise and technologies has established the company as a leader in the national defense and security markets. I look forward to joining this incredibly talented team and contributing to Intergraph's continued growth in this critical industry for our nation's security."

Holly recently retired from the U.S. Army where he previously served as deputy director of the Missile Defense Agency in Washington, D.C., directing the 7,000-person Department of Defense agency; while concurrently serving as the program executive officer for the Ballistic Missile Defense System. Prior to serving as deputy director of the Missile Defense Agency, Holly served as program director for the Ground-based Midcourse Defense Joint Program office of the Missile Defense Agency, where he was charged with leading the government and industry team that built the cornerstone of the U.S. Ballistic Missile Defense system.

Holly has a bachelor's of science degree from the U.S. Military Academy, West Point, and a master's of science in mechanical engineering from Georgia Tech. He is a licensed professional engineer in the Commonwealth of Virginia. Holly is also a graduate of the Army Field Artillery Officers' Advance Course, the Marine Corps Amphibious Warfare School, the Army Command and General Staff College and the Industrial College of the Armed Forces.
