THORNTON, Colorado, USA, 2 March 2009 - People who take digital
photographs for business or pleasure can now map their photos just like
mapping professionals do. GeoSpatial Experts of Thornton, Colo., today
introduced the GPS-Photo Link Express Series, a consumer edition of its
popular photo-mapping software.
"GPS-Photo Link Express was created for anyone who needs to accurately
capture the GPS coordinates where they take digital photos so the
precise photograph locations can be documented and displayed on a
digital map, such as Google Earth," said Rick Bobbitt, GeoSpatial
Experts CEO. "Recreational photographers will also find the Express
Series is an easy way to keep track of where their photos were taken."
For business applications, GeoSpatial Experts expects the flexibility
and functionality of GPS-Photo Link Express will appeal to law
enforcement, real estate, emergency response, engineering &
construction, and oil & gas personnel. Any industry that requires
photographic documentation for regulatory compliance, reporting
purposes, or evidence gathering can benefit from this fast and
easy-to-use software.
"Anyone who knows how to use a digital camera and GPS receiver can
learn how to use the GPS-Photo Link Express software in about 15
minutes," said Bobbitt.
GPS-Photo Link Express runs on both desktop and laptop computers. The
software is compatible with any handheld GPS receiver and digital
camera, including some cell phone
cameras like the iPhone 3G. For more sophisticated photographers, the
Express Edition also works with the recently introduced models of
GPS-enabled digital cameras from Ricoh and Nikon
Introduced in 2001, GPS-Photo Link automatically links digital
photographic images with GPS location and other attribute data. It uses
the location data to accurately map the photographs in their correct
locations for display on a digital map layer such as Google Earth or in
a geographic information system (GIS) such as ESRI. The original
software, now called GPS-Photo Link GIS Pro, remains extremely popular
among mapping professionals who export their photographs to GIS
software systems for advanced geospatial analysis purposes. The latest
upgrades to the Express and GIS Pro series include worldwide mapping in
html and Word output as well as the ability to create .kmz files for
easier file sharing in Google Earth.
GeoSpatial Experts offers the GPS-Photo Link Express and GIS Pro
Editions either as stand-alone software packages or bundled with
cameras and GPS receivers. To place an order, visit www.geospatialexperts.com.
