WHAT: Luncheon forum featuring a panel of forward thinking small business and high-tech startup executives discussing how wireless technologies are providing Washingtonians twenty-first century tools to address twenty-first century issues, including home monitoring systems, rural communications solutions, and wireless fundraising applications for non-profits.

Committee Chair of Technology, Energy and Communications, Rep. McCoy
will begin the session discussing the importance of wireless
technology in Washington.

company specializing in the development of wireless controlled
residential electric systems. Billig will discuss the newest home
monitoring systems available through wireless technology.
-- Jim Manis, Chairman and CEO, Mobile Giving Foundation - The Mobile
Giving Foundation brings the power and reach of mobile phones to
non-profit organizations as a fundraising and donor tool. Manis will
discuss how non-profits can leverage mobile technology to expand and
cultivate a new base of givers and create donor interaction.
-- Diane Smith, Co-founder and CEO, Auroras Entertainment - Co-founder
and CEO of Auroras Entertainment, an IPTV and advanced media services
company. Smith will discuss the role wireless technology played in
building her company in rural Montana.
-- Peter Marx, Analog Protocol - Analog Protocol specializes in online
virtual world development for MTV networks and other media companies.
A former CTO at Vivendi/Universal Games and former Vice President of
emerging technologies at Universal Studios and Vivendi Universal, Marx
will discuss the newest developments in digital technologies and
consumer entertainment products.
-- Jonathan Spalter, Chairman, Mobile Future - Spalter served as chief
information officer at the United States Information Agency during the
Clinton administration. He will introduce and moderate the forum.
