mobile applications to business customers seeking to improve
productivity of their mobile workforces
MINNEAPOLIS-- Gearworks, a leading provider of location-based mobile business applications, today announced a partnership with U.S. Cellular, the nation's sixth largest wireless carrier. U.S. Cellular will deliver Gearworks' etracer portfolio of location-based mobile applications on-deck to its business customers in 26 states.
etracer by Gearworks is a powerful wireless and Web-based mobile workforce management solution that enables businesses of all sizes and across many industries to supervise and optimize their personnel and activities in the field as easily as they do in the office. Using etrace, companies can track their mobile workers' location, travel times and time on jobs, as well as wirelessly dispatch jobs and capture vital field data via customizable mobile forms. With the available audible turn-by-turn navigation feature, workers can be assured of taking the most direct route. Customers purchase etrace from U.S. Cellular and are billed monthly.
"U.S. Cellular prides itself on providing wireless solutions that help our business customers improve their competitiveness and bottom-lines," said Ed Perez, Sr. Dir. "etrace by Gearworks is a great example in that it provides our business customers with the wireless tools they need to revolutionize the efficiency and effectiveness of their mobile workforces."
Four etrace packages will be made available by U.S. Cellular at launch:
* etracer Expressway - Enables organizations to rapidly locate mobile workers on robust maps and provides audible, turn-by-turn navigation and custom alerts tailored to worker movements. Available exclusively through U.S. Cellular.
* etracer Standard - Provides worker locating features plus mobile timecards, enabling workers to punch in/out for shifts and enter job information directly into their handsets.
* etracer Pro - Combines the features of Standard and adds robust job dispatching, customizable forms and navigation to streamline fuel sophistication reports and integrate data in the field with back-office payroll.
* etracer Pro with Nav - Includes all of the functionality of the Pro package, as well as audible, turn-by-turn driving directions to guide workers to customer locations quickly and safely.
By leveraging Gearworks' AppmosphereT Mobile Integration Solutions, U.S. Cellular etrace customers can integrate with their critical back-office business applications for seamless end-to-end functionality.
Deploying etrace across mobile workforces enables U.S. Cellular business customers to benefit from reduced overtime, increased productivity, fuel savings and improved customer service. Depending on the specific deployment, return on investment can often be achieved in a matter of weeks.
