According to AAA, nearly every person admits touch texting while driving is dangerous. LA Times reports more than 50 percent of drivers continue texting while driving regardless of the potential consequences.

* A text message took an average of 63 seconds to compose while driving. In 60 seconds, a vehicle travels half a mile at city speeds.
In 2006, there were 17,602 alcohol-related fatalities in vehicle crashes. Touch texting is more distracting and more common than drinking while driving, but equally as deadly.
