Ship2Save to feature best in breed RFID hardware at its newly renovated testing facility PDF Print E-mail

State of the art testing facility will showcase RFID readers, printers, portals, conveyor systems, and other partner products to meet the growing demands of the RFID market.

Montreal, Quebec – October 1, 2008 -  Ship2Save has announced today that it has completed the expansion of its Montreal headquarters, and is currently populating its brand new RFID testing laboratory with top of the line RFID equipment. The new laboratory configuration will directly answer the growing market demands for RFID solutions with a more controlled testing environment for Ship2Save, its affiliates, and its customers. Moreover, the laboratory will serve as a sales-platform of RFID products and solutions geared towards end-users.

“We are very excited to get the laboratory up and running. There is an inherent value in conducting testing in a newly designed controlled environment”, comments Dino De Luca, President at Ship2Save. “We based ourselves on the successful and not so successful features of our previous facility; the feedback from our testing team and from our sales associates for the marketing aspect, drove the conceptualizing of the laboratory’s layout and dual purpose scheme”, continues De Luca.

Ship2Save uses this two-pronged strategy as an improvement to the features of its laboratory and as an extension of Ship2Save’s new go to market strategy comprising a formal sales channel program. The laboratory will be accessible on a complimentary basis as a showcase to end-users for Ship2Save authorized resellers, and it will be available for testing purposes for a nominal fee.

“We feel that by expanding its testing facility and opening its doors wider to resellers such as ourselves, Ship2Save is not only investing in the RFID market, but also in ProInnoTech,” explains Réal Desmarais, President at ProInnoTech Inc.”We are delighted to have access to the latest and greatest RFID hardware companies have to offer for our own testing purposes and as a valuable selling platform for the customers we bring in. The tangible demonstration of a working system is sure to seal the deal”, concludes Desmarais.

“Once the laboratory set-up is complete, Ship2Save will hold an open house to reveal the benefits such an environment can bring to RFID resellers and hardware companies,” elaborates Sonia Bounardjian, Marketing Director at Ship2Save. “Until then, we would like to invite producers of RFID readers, printers, tags and peripherals to contact us for opportunities to display their wares in the laboratory”, adds Bounardjian. Complementing the clean environment of the new lab, the RFID enabled warehouse next door illustrates RFID in gritty action complete with RFID portals and forklifts with mounted RFID readers.

The RFID market is estimated to be at more than 5 billion USD for 2008 and is expected to grow to almost five times that number in 2013. With a growing number of resellers filling the RFID space, few can afford to invest in the infrastructure required for solution testing or demonstration. Ship2Save answers this need by offering a centralized location where reseller operational and marketing requirements can be wholly satisfied, and where closing a sale is substantially facilitated.
