New Device Allows Consumers to Record Personal Location-Based Content in Real-Time Via their Mobile Phone

PALO ALTO, Calif.-- -Abaqus Inc. (TM), the provider of world-class location-based products & services for consumers and enterprise customers, today announced the launch of MyGeoRecorder, a groundbreaking GPS-powered mobile application that allows consumers to record personal location-based content in real-time via a mobile phone and then share it with any social network and online service on the web.

The MyGeoDiary service enables consumers to easily record, annotate, organize & share their personal location-information from a central place on the web. Consumers can publish & use their location data across variety of services on the web such as sites for tracking fitness regimen, sharing travel journals, blogging, enabling mobile workforce management, geotagging photos, or simply managing one’s real-world geodiary.

The application has already been used in used in the premiere fundraising event, The Big Ride Pacific Coast by cyclist, Steve Bursley. Steve was able to share a map of each day’s ride, attach photos, and keep those who sponsored him updated on his progress. To view Steve’s blog, visit www.sbursley.mygeodiary.com or www.ridesteveride.blogspot.com

According to Shailendra Jain, CEO of Abaqus, “The release of MyGeoRecorder for mobile phones signifies a real breakthrough in connecting a phone’s unique location-awareness with the richness of web2.0 services.”

MyGeoRecorder was developed on the WHERE platform, and launched on September 17th, 2008. Prior to WHERE, developing and launching a mobile GPS application was both costly and time consuming. "Abaqus has taken full advantage of WHERE to build a very compelling location based application, said Matt Gross, GM, WHERE Developer Programs. “We are excited to bring this application to market and enable our users to take full advantage of their mobile devices connected to a powerful web service."
