September, 2008 (Portland, OR) – With over 10 million units sold worldwide, Apple’s iPhone has created a host of opportunities for developers around the globe. Leveraging this new media outlet, Gorloch Interactive has introduced an innovative way to reach politically active users nationwide. The Portland-based iPhone development team created Campaign, an iPhone application featuring up to the minute election news, daily polls, and candidate-specific information including the official blogs of the Democratic and Republican candidates. Users can even register to vote from within the application.
Campaign, which will be sold for $0.99, provides targeted news stories about the candidates and other related political topics based on the user’s political affiliation. Users can actively engage in daily polls and view the political opinions of other iPhone users. Not only does Campaign provide an effective means to get current news, it will also gather valuable insight into the beliefs and opinions of millions of users.
The App Store (Apple’s online application download site for iPhone and iPod Touch users) has reported over 100 million downloads to date. Marcelino J. Alvarez, CEO of Gorloch Interactive, anticipates the application will be downloaded by thousands of iPhone owners across the country, just as the 2008 election season is hitting full speed. “As a company, we believe this election to be the most important of our generation, so we’re doing what we can to help get people involved.”
