Veriplace Location Platform offers Location Access to NAVTEQ Network for Developers
CTIA WIRELESS I.T. & Entertainment 2008 - Booth #125
SAN FRANCISCO - Sept. 11, 2008 - WaveMarket (www.wavemarket.com), a leader in location- based services and NAVTEQ, a leading global provider of digital map data for location-based solutions and vehicle navigation, today announced NAVTEQ will feature WaveMarket's VeriplaceT location access platform on its NAVTEQ Network for DevelopersT (NN4D) website, effective immediately at www.NN4D.com located on the Partner Zones page.
Veriplace based on the same commercially-proven location security and privacy solutions used in WaveMarket's industry leading Family Locator products already available on tens of millions of mobile phones provides WAP, Web, SMS, Widget and Mobile application developers access to a user's location-as long as the user grants access. The platform empowers the user with tools to protect his location data regardless of the technology used to locate him, while unlocking the LBS opportunities for carriers and developers. Mobile users are able to grant or revoke location permission at any time via the Veriplace website or mobile website. The offering grants NN4D members preferred access to WaveMarket's Veriplace API documentation, case studies, support, webinars, and community events.
"We're pleased to feature Veriplace with NAVTEQ's NN4D community of developers," said Dr. Scott Hotes, WaveMarket's CTO. "Our industry-leading location platform offers NN4D developers access to a mobile user's location via a powerful web services API. This community will be among the first to develop and launch LBS-aware applications on our carrier partners."
"Veriplace offers our developer community location access for their web, WAP, SMS, Widget or Mobile applications across a variety of carriers," said Marc Naddell, Vice President, Partner and Developer Programs, NAVTEQ. "We continue to create strong relationships with industry leaders to provide the best possible tools and are thrilled to have the Veriplace location privacy platform available to our developers. We're very excited to see what the NAVTEQ developer community will create with NAVTEQ data and mobile location access using Veriplace."
Developers attending CTIA can learn more about how to access a user's location via Veriplace at WaveMarket's booth #125 in the Developer Pavilion at CTIA.
