FindWhere 5.0 Release Provides a Faster & Easier User Experience PDF Print E-mail
Written by FindWhere
Thursday, 11 September 2008

Potomac Falls, VA September 10, 2008 -- FindWhere, a pioneer and global leader of real-time GPS location tracking, today announced enhancements to its web based precision tracking service, the secure online member area known as the member panel.

The improved user experience will allow FindWhere's customers to more efficiently see the current and past locations of their GPS-tracked devices and mobile phones from any online web browser.

"Our first version of the member panel - developed seven years ago in java script - has been widely replicated. Although it was successful and scalable, the new AJAX version will provide a state-of-the-art technology upgrade," says Jaap Groot, FindWhere's Founder and CEO. "The new member panel allows cross-browser use. It's faster and more user friendly. Our customers now have the flexibility to choose their mapping technology, from Google Earth to Microsoft Virtual Earth."

The enhancements make it even easier for us to support our third party partners
FindWhere's online member panel features satellite and graphic street maps that track current and historical locations of FindWhere's tracking devices, providing an accurate location with address, date, time and even speed. The upgrade to FindWhere 5.0 allows users to easily set up and manage features. Another enhancement - removal of pop-up windows - ensures a faster and more seamless user experience.

"The enhancements make it even easier for us to support our third party partners," said Melanie Davidson, FindWhere's Director of Marketing. "A lot of our partners want a hassle free solution to integrate our location platform into their existing applications, so it's a win-win."

FindWhere customers can already receive email and text alerts to their mobile phones with information on the location of their devices. Alerts include a physical address, speed alert, on the move notification, panic alerts and notification of entry or exit of a pre-determined geographic perimeter or geofence. Location notifications are also available to customers on demand as a text message. Customers can simply send a text to a specified code, and they will receive an instant response with the address of their device.

Future enhancements include a mobile version of the member panel to further the ability for FindWhere customers to monitor and manage their devices remotely from any mobile phone with a web browser.

"People rely on their mobile phones for more than just communicating. Mobile tracking puts peace of mind in the palm of their hand anywhere and at anytime," added Davidson

In addition to GPS tracking devices, FindWhere's precision tracking service also offers GPS tracking directly through the mobile phone, transforming cell phones into easy-to-use GPS tracking and locating devices.

FindWhere's enhanced member panel and text/email alerts are standard for any FindWhere account holder. The panel is compatible in all Web browsers.
