Nokia has made available an interesting mobile application that enables users to monitor and track their CO2 emissions. Users can then offset their emissions in an effort to help save the planet.
About we.offset:
A Nokia application that allows you to offset your carbon emissions via the handset and a small donation.
Climate change is one of the most serious threats facing the global society.
We all need to make every effort to reduce our emissions as much as we can and offset the reminder. At Nokia, we are reducing our business air travel in various ways. Carbon dioxide offseting offers us the opportunity to compensate for the CO2 emissions caused by our flights.
Download we:offset, the world's first CO2 emission offseting tool to your mobile. (SIS file, 321 KB)
* Once download is complete, connect your PC to your phone via USB cable, infrared, or Bluetooth wireless technology, depending on your PC and phone capabilities.
* Open PC Suite and select "Install application" to open the Nokia Application Installer window. (If you do not have PC Suite or for more information on connecting your phone to your PC and installing applications in your phone, please see your phone's user guide.)
* In the My Computer window, open the folder where you have downloaded the file on your PC and select the file you wish to install.
* Click the green Install button.
* Follow the installation instructions on your phone.
Note: you may have to accept a user licence agreement.
Using the calculator at ClimateCare you can easily determine your carbon emmissions
We have worked with ClimateCare to develop the we:offset tool, and you can read more about their emission reductions projects at www.jpmorganclimatecare.com.
When you offset with us you'll get a ClimateCare certificate showing your emission reductions, as well as reduction tips to help you continue reducing where possible.
