Schedule for EMEA, Americas and APAC regions announced
Chicago, IL - August 11, 2008 NAVTEQ, a leading global provider of digital map data for location-based solutions and vehicle navigation, officially kicked-off the sixth season of the NAVTEQ Global LBS Challenge with the opening of registration for the EMEA region on August 8, 2008. The complete schedule is as follows:
Europe-Middle East-Africa (EMEA):
§ Registration Period: August 8, 2008 to October 24, 2008
§ Solution Submission Deadline: November 21, 2008
§ Awards Ceremony: February 17, 2009 at Mobile World Congress (Barcelona)
Americas
§ Registration Period: September 5, 2008 to November 28, 2008
§ Solution Submission Deadline: January 2, 2009
§ Awards Ceremony: April 2, 2009 at CTIA (Las Vegas)
Asia-Pacific (APAC):
§ Registration Period: October 31, 2008 to February 13, 2009
§ Solution Submission Deadline: March 6, 2009
§ Awards Ceremony: June 10 at CommunicAsia (Singapore)
The Global LBS Challenge invites developers to build location-enabled applications that work with mobile phones and/or wireless handheld devices using dynamic positioning technology and NAVTEQ® map data.
Winners receive unparalleled recognition and marketing exposure to launch their mobile LBS application, as well as a prizes consisting of cash and data licenses. Last year, NAVTEQ awarded a global prize pool valued at over $4.5 million USD. This years program promises to be even bigger.
