NEW YORK, July 28 -- Today the Glide OS World Development Program (GWDP) is launching Glide Jamaica to bring Glide's powerful and low cost mobile computing solutions to Jamaica.
"We are excited today to launch GlideJamaica.org to help advance social and economic development in Jamaica," said TransMedia's Chairman and CEO, Donald Leka. The GWDP recently launched Glide Albania (http://www.glidealbania.org/) and Glide Kosova (http://www.glidekosova.org/). "We are pleased to be working together with non-profit organizations like GlideJamaica.org providing the technology backbone of the Glide OS," said Mr. Leka. "Glide Jamaica will help keep people connected with their homeland regardless of where they live or travel."
"We hope to have the Glide OS deployed in over 20 developing countries by the end of 2008," said Mr. Leka.
