Berkeley, CA: July 22, 2008 – Apisphere, Inc. http://www.apisphere.com, a leading provider of location-awareness services for mobile business applications, today announced it has partnered with oDesk, the leading marketplace and management platform for technical work, to provide Apisphere’s customers with professional services to support the quick and efficient integration of its Geo-Enabled Mobility (GEM) platform in mobile applications.

Apisphere will be leveraging oDesk’s network of nearly 100,000 developers worldwide to ensure its customers receive the professional services required to customize Apisphere’s GEM and integrate it into their mobile applications.  In using Apisphere’s GEM, customers are provided with access to the Application Programming Interface (API) to tailor the location-awareness capabilities to meet their needs.  This partnership with oDesk enables Apisphere to provide each of their customers with the appropriate professional services to seamlessly integrate the programs and applications.

“As software development companies look to create the latest and greatest mobile applications, they are now looking to integrate location-awareness capabilities into their new applications,” said Craig Harper, CEO of Apisphere.  “It is essential that we work with our customers to support the timely integration of Apisphere’s geo-location capabilities into the mobile applications they are developing.  Working with oDesk’s network of developers will provide us with a vibrant and reliable team needed to provide our customers with the services they require.”

Apisphere selected oDesk as its source for professional services because of its large, worldwide network that could support Apisphere customers regardless of their location.  oDesk will identify professionals on  its network to become oDesk Certified Apisphere Developers.  This will provide a dedicated group of developers with the necessary expertise to support Apisphere’s customers and properly customize the GEM APIs.

“Mobile devices are no longer a nice-to-have among businesses but a must-have, and software developers need to quickly launch new and relevant mobile applications to remain competitive,” said Gary Swart, CEO of oDesk.  “oDesk is excited to be working with Apisphere to provide the growing mobility market with unique location-awareness capabilities.”
