Spatial Wave releases new GIS-enabled water operations workflows for Field Mapplet product

Aliso Viejo, California (July 8, 2008): Spatial Wave, Inc. announced
today the release of new plug-in water operations workflows for its
Field Mapplet 1.2 product.
Field Mapplet is a spatially-enabled mobile application framework designed to automate utility workflows between the office and the field. The latest plug-in workflows now available for water operations include: FM/VT for Valve Turning, FM/HF for Hydrant Flushing, FM/MR for Meter Reading / Rehabilitation, and FM/WR for Work Requests.
The Field Mapplet framework includes rule-based dispatching, custom workflows, navigation, optimal routing, facility atlas viewing, as-built and engineering drawing access, and red-lining of GIS data. Field Mapplet supports both connected and disconnected mobile access and includes automated GIS synchronization capabilities. Field Mapplet is an ideal platform for building mobile applications to manage customer requests, work orders, and field data collection, all using a common and easy to use interface. The mobile component of Field Mapplet is digital ink enabled and can be used on regular PCs, laptops, and tablet devices. The Field Mapplet framework integrates with Spatial Wave’s MapLibrary document management system to allow for viewing of engineering drawings, documents, as well as multi-media files in the field. Field Mapplet’s Work Request workflow can be customized to integrate with a utility’s Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS).
