Rapid Responder Receives First Endorsement for a Crisis Management System from the National Sheriffs Association
SEATTLE, WA July 1, 2008 The Rapid Responder® crisis management solution from Prepared Response, Inc. has received official endorsement from the National Sheriffs Association. This endorsement signifies that the National Sheriffs Association has thoroughly reviewed the company and the solution, and verified Rapid Responders effectiveness during emergencies through client and first responder interviews. Rapid Responder is the first emergency preparedness and crisis management solution to receive such endorsement.
The National Sheriffs Association is pleased to endorse Rapid Responder, said Sheriff Aaron D. Kennard, NSA Executive Director. This crisis management solution underwent a thorough evaluation process and we are confident that the system will aid sheriffs offices, police departments and other first responders during emergency situations.
Rapid Responder provides first responders with instant access to critical facility information to help save lives and protect property. The system has been deployed to more than 10,000 buildings across the country and has been used during a campus shooting, bomb threats, lock downs and other emergency situations. The system is used to digitally catalogue and inventory critical infrastructure, including public and private buildings, airports, hospitals, utilities, schools, stadiums, shopping centers and other facilities. Using Rapid Responder, public safety agencies can instantly access more than 300 data points, including tactical response plans, evacuation routes, exterior and interior photos, floor plans, utility shut-off locations, and hazardous chemical inventories for virtually any facility.
Prepared Response is pleased that the National Sheriffs Association has chosen to endorse Rapid Responder, said Jim Finnell, president and CEO of Prepared Response. This endorsement signifies a great vote of confidence from the association for Rapid Responder and its use in protecting school campuses and other critical infrastructure.
Rapid Responder is certified by the U.S. Department of Homeland Securitys SAFETY Act as a Qualified Anti-Terrorism Technology. Rapid Responder is being used in 12 states with over 5,000 end users including more than 500 public safety agencies and 275 school districts. This system was recognized in the Harvard/Noblis Innovations Award in Homeland Security that was presented to the State of Washington in September 2007 and was selected for the 2006 National Homeland Defense Foundations Innovations in Homeland Security award.
